Project Start Date: September 1, 2021
Physical Completion Date: August 31, 2023
Project ID Number: 2020-1.1.2-PIACI–KFI-2021-00209
Project Description:
The aim of this project is to develop a SaaS (Software as a Service) system, along with necessary software components that could be sold individually, to provide virtual microscopy services to external quality control and educational institutions for their educational processes. In addition to the software and services, the unique value of the system lies in the data asset built during the project. The proposed solution is of international significance, and larger universities and research laboratories will be able to utilize the innovative solution developed through this project.
AENSys Informatikai Kft. successfully applied for and received funding from the National Research, Development, and Innovation Office (NRDI) for the “Collaborative Applications of Virtual Microscopy in Education” project under the 2020-1.1.2-PIACI KFI program. The project’s goal is to develop a SaaS system and necessary software components that could provide virtual microscopy services for external quality control and educational institutions. In addition to the software, the data asset created during the project adds unique value. Our proposed solution is of international relevance, with large universities and research laboratories being able to adopt the innovative solution we are developing. Currently, there is no education system available that supports the training of laboratory technicians working in external quality control (EQA) laboratories. The project aims to develop an educational system for training laboratory technicians, which will enable the collection and annotation of extensive samples, allowing our system to learn from evaluations. This will make the training process customizable. The product will be a SaaS platform accessible worldwide via mobile devices and the web, similar to other online platforms but more comprehensive.
Project Deliverables:
The project started on September 1, 2021, and is expected to be completed by August 31, 2023. The project (ID: 2020-1.1.2-PIACI-KFI-2021-00209) is funded by the National Research, Development, and Innovation Office with a grant of HUF 105,356,039 as part of the Market-Driven Research, Development, and Innovation Projects (2020-1.1.2-PIACI KFI) program.
The project titled “Collaborative Applications of Virtual Microscopy in Education” by AENSys Informatikai Kft., funded under the 2020-1.1.2-PIACI KFI program of the National Research, Development, and Innovation Office, has been successfully completed. The aim of the project was to develop a SaaS system and necessary software components that could provide virtual microscopy services to external quality control and educational institutions. Our solution is of international significance, and large universities and research laboratories can adopt this innovative technology. As a result of the project, an educational system is now available that supports microbiology education and the training of laboratory technicians in external quality control laboratories. The system offers broad sample collection and annotation capabilities, allowing for data collection and machine learning-based evaluation, making the training process customizable. The product is a SaaS platform that is accessible worldwide via the web.
Project Deliverables:
The project was implemented from September 1, 2021, to August 31, 2023. The project (ID: 2020-1.1.2-PIACI-KFI-2021-00209) was funded by the National Research, Development, and Innovation Office with a grant of HUF 105,356,039 under the Market-Driven Research, Development, and Innovation Projects (2020-1.1.2-PIACI KFI) program.
Our project, funded by the NKFI fund, aims to support the work of educators, organizations, and trainers through a presentation tool that enables them to convey educational content to their target audience more easily and clearly. We aim to achieve this through easily created presentations, interactive slide types, and AI-generated question sets. Students can respond to the questions presented during lectures using their mobile phones, thus becoming more engaged and maintaining focus for longer periods.
